Camp Ghangharia (Sarovar Portico) Open From June to September 2015

Held as one of the most revered places in the country, Badrinath is believed to be one of the Char Dhams. Located between the mountains of Nar and Narayan, the town has a picturesque location that adds much more charm to the spirituality of the place. The major draw to the town is the Temple Badrinath.

It is believed to have been laid by Saint Shankaracharya. According to popular beliefs, Shankaracharya had found the idol of Lord Badrinarayan in the river, which in turn inspired him to raise the temple for the deity. Apart from the temple, nature too has made Badrinath an interesting place to visit. Tapt Kund and Surya Kund are some famous hot water springs here. They are known for their medicinal properties.

Other noted temples in the town include Yogathyan Badri, Bhavishya Badri, Preetha Badri and Adi Badri. The Vyas Caves here are also a major draw as they are considered to be the spot where sage Ved Vyas dictated the entire Mahabharata to Lord Ganesha.
